The Lunar War Chapter 13Morning Glory was assigned to a rescue mission team who had to travel to Fillydelphia in order to retrieve a group of ponies who were captured by Celestia's forces. Many friends that Morning had made at the Lunar Base were also selected for the team. Morning Glory was ecstatic to go. "This is awesome! I actually get to go do something dangerous instead of just training. Finally they recognize me as a soldier instead of a trainee." She was excited, and I was happy for her. But of course I may have acted like her mother a little and made sure that everything was going to go well for the mission. "Silver, it's going to be OK, I'll be fine. If Flareblitz trained me, I know I'm going to fine. And don't worry; I'll kick some Solar Empire flank for you while we're over there." she reminded me.
Finally the mission was about to begin. Morning and her team would have to walk all the way over to Fillydelphia to make sure that Solar Guards, as we called them sometimes, would have less of a chance
The Lunar War Chapter 12Now, I'm sure not many ponies are close to anyone not in their immediate family, but strangely enough, Morning Glory was closer to me than almost anypony else in my family. She was my cousin, so I got to see her in not so frequent occasions, but when we do meet, it's like we're sisters. So seeing her on that stage, saying she was ready to die for the sake of the Lunar Republic, it was surprising. I saw her as my baby sister, and since I hadn't seen her in years, this was startling for me. I had to get out of that building as soon as I could. I ran out, not entirely sure why I had to leave. When I was out, it was almost the middle of the night. Whenever I was conscious of the real world, it was always night. I had been growing apart from the world slowly, but now I think that seeing Morning reminded me why I was really here, that I wasn't just another runaway fugitive. I didn't want to accept my fate, so I ran. But of course, nopony can run from their destiny entirely.
I sat outsi
The GuestIt was a rainy cold day in Ponyville. Jet Stream enjoyed these days very much. He sat in his home, and lounged and listened to the sound of the rain pouring down from the clouds not too far above him. He had almost drifted off to sleep when there was a small knock at his door. He opened it to find a fairly young pegasus. She held a small package, nicely wrapped. She asked if she could come in. Jet Stream allowed her in. She made herself comfortable.
"Why have you made such a long trip?" The old Jet Stream asked her. The pegasus dried herself off and replied, "I have something I need to deliver to someone very important to me." "And who is this pony?" he asked her. "My father," she replied, "It is his birthday today." Jet Stream questioned his guest further. "And what gift did you bring him?" he asked politely. "Something from his past that he could never find before." She replied again, being patient with the old pegasus. "Well, let's see what it is, shall we?" he asked her, taking the
The Lunar War: Chapter 11Luna smiled at me, pleased with my resolution. We flew back down to the ground, when an earth pony messenger rushed up to Luna. He tried to catch his breath, but managed to say, "Your Highness...a message from...Princess Celestia...very urgent." He handed us the envelope from his bag. I glanced at Luna and she glanced back at me. I knew we were thinking the same thing. "The Shadow." we whispered together. We quickly went back to our tent, to avoid any questions about the Shadow.
We reached back to her tent, and we opened the envelope, and read the letter inside. It described that Celestia, or the Shadow, I should say, wanted a peaceful meeting. She also advised Luna to bring me. I gulped nervously as I read this. My mind began to race with possibilities of why she wanted me at this meeting. It could be a trap, it could actually be what it says, but I was sure it was not what I hope it was.
"Should we go?" I asked her after she put the letter away. Luna sighed. "I don't think we have an
The Lunar War: Chapter 10We returned to the Lunar Base, after calming the agitated Twilight, who couldn't believe that anyone would break into her library. Dusk was constantly asking if I was hurt in any way, but I simply replied that I was fine. I tried to keep my patience with him; after all, he did save my life.
Limerick and I immediately reported our findings about our enemy to Princess Luna. "So, my sister really is possessed. I knew it. Celestia would never act this rashly " she muttered, shaking her head. Suddenly, Flare bursted into the tent, exclaiming, "HEY! Wait a minute! You forgot to tell her about Dusk and me saving you from that unicorn that tried to kill you!" I tried to shove my hoof into his mouth, but he kept talking anyway. When he was finished, Luna eyed me suspiciously.
"Is this true, Silver?" she asked calmly, but in her commanding tone. I smiled nervously before hanging my head down, making my bangs hide my eyes. "What's the use of hiding it? Yes, Your Highness, what Flareblitz sai
Inspector Wolf The old lady was dead. I could smell it before I even got into the house. The whole place reeked of adrenaline, sweat, fear, copper and steel. He’d dropped her right in her living room. Chopped and chopped until she stopped moving. But I could tell I was getting close. This had been done in a hurry, and the killer didn’t have the time to clean up after himself like he usually did.
Across the room, the phone rang. The shrill sound set my teeth to grinding, but I ignored it. Instead I followed the killer’s bloody footprints into the back bedroom. He’d climbed out the window. If I hurried, I could catch up to him and end this disgusting spree he was on.
Then the answering machine kicked in. “Hi, Gramma! It’s Red. Sorry I’m running late. I kind of lost track of time. But don’t worry. I packed the picnic and I’m heading out the door right now. Love you.”
She’d been expec
