The Lunar War Chapter 17We left Canterlot, on foot this time, leaving Shadow to decipher what our tactic was going to be. Luna was still a bit weepy from Celestia collapsing like a dead corpse. I remained as serious and as dangerous to tip off as ever. With my black cloak on, I bet I looked even more terrifying. Our trip back was essentially me getting Luna to pull herself together after what we had seen and heard. "H-how are we going to face off against the entire Equestrian army? We wouldn't stand a chance against Shadow, especially since we would be essentially fighting ourselves." I thought about this for a second. What I had said back in the lower level was an impulsive threat, but it was still effective.
"We'll only fight to defend the Lunar Base and the many civilians we have. Luna, we are the only chance for Equestria to have both you and Celestia back on the throne as you should. If Equestria is going to survive; we must fight." Luna sniffled and gave me a small smile. "And this is why Shadow hates y
The Lunar War Chapter 16"What have you done to her?!" I yelled at Celestia. "I made her my second in command, but then she got a little too nosy " she replied. I looked at Lavender again. It seemed like she was looking at me, yet she looked like she was completely unaware of her surroundings. I didn't even notice that she wasn't at the Lunar Base. I felt so ashamed in assuming that she was there. Then again, I should have noticed. Back when we were near the entrance to the Lunar Base, Limerick mentioned something "They're alright mostly." I should have seen the red flag right there and then. But I didn't. I had to pay the consequences for my carelessness when I saw her. And also she did before that. But we had to move on; I needed to know what happened to Morning Glory. Thankfully Luna spoke up for me. "We know you have a group of hostages that belong to us. We understand that you want something in return for these hostages, do you not?"
"Of course; but again, you know the answer to your own q
The Lunar War Chapter 15The next few days went by quietly. Dusk and I hardly ran into each other after what I said, and when we did, we brushed it off and moved on. It was suddenly awkward between us. I felt like such a fool for what I said to him. But I had to focus primarily on what lied ahead in Canterlot, what was waiting for me and Luna. I sat in the mess hall, staring at me food. The food here always seemed decent, but today it was bland like clay and water in a bowl. "Hey, you gonna eat that?" Flareblitz asked as he sat next to me. "Sure, I'm not hungry." He snatched it greedily and gulped the whole thing down. I simply stared at the table, wandering off into my own thoughts. But of course, Flare kept snapping me back. "Why the long face?" he asked, then cracked up at his own lame joke. I rolled my eyes and put my head on the table.
"But seriously, what's wrong with you? Just a few weeks ago you were Miss Happy Sunshine, and now you're gloomy and serious as ever." I sighed. "Well, I was 'Miss Happy Sun
The Lunar War Chapter 14It had been several days after the bombing, and I was getting worried about Morning Glory. Surely those guards either captured her and her team or she somehow managed to get away, but the last few seconds we saw did not seem to be in her favor. I sighed. Shadow, as I called him for short, had planned the attacks, and no doubt using spies. But right now, we can't deal with any potential traitors. After all, Princess Luna being ruler of Equestria wasn't the reason we were fighting for. It was to save Equestria from any sort of tyranny. That was why we called ourselves the Lunar Republic instead of the Lunar Empire. No, we needed to redeem Equestria from Shadow, and Luna and I were still at out wits' ends on how to defeat him.
Then one afternoon, our troubles only piled up more. A letter had been sent from the Royal Castle in Canterlot, addressed to Luna of course. The letter only repeated Shadow's request from earlier. "A war meeting will be held in the hidden lower levels of the castle.
The Lunar War Chapter 13Morning Glory was assigned to a rescue mission team who had to travel to Fillydelphia in order to retrieve a group of ponies who were captured by Celestia's forces. Many friends that Morning had made at the Lunar Base were also selected for the team. Morning Glory was ecstatic to go. "This is awesome! I actually get to go do something dangerous instead of just training. Finally they recognize me as a soldier instead of a trainee." She was excited, and I was happy for her. But of course I may have acted like her mother a little and made sure that everything was going to go well for the mission. "Silver, it's going to be OK, I'll be fine. If Flareblitz trained me, I know I'm going to fine. And don't worry; I'll kick some Solar Empire flank for you while we're over there." she reminded me.
Finally the mission was about to begin. Morning and her team would have to walk all the way over to Fillydelphia to make sure that Solar Guards, as we called them sometimes, would have less of a chance
MercyOh sweet God how the grassland
ignites in moonlight tonight
I must thank you for creating
her tangled fingers' slow pace
through the handsome rain Her
trochaic kinesthesia to rhythms
in Stravinsky's The Rite of
Spring Is this how you meant
for us to love you Yahweh
Tumbling clumsily down hills
of sheets into perpetually
immutable silence I could love
you like that I think I've been
practicing on this Savanna
for days and months Lost in
her crystal canvas Rolling crests
and troughs And when she touches
me Oh fair Lord I'm dragged into
your city past Gethsemane's
pulsing green and gold
Please hold us together
under this luminous stretch
Oh Father We are live
unclothed Our reflections awash
with the skin of your sun
